Emotional Rollercoaster

wow what a week this has been! my grandma was admited to the hospital a few days ago because she just was not getting better in the nursing home and she was sleeping nonstop. we have had good days, and bad days with her all week. then because my grandma developed a nasty cough the nursing home did an x-ray and found out that she had Pnemonia in one of her lungs, so then they started her on a heavy duty medication to get rid of the infection. our family was also given bad news about her condition that it may not improve and that she is at the end of her life, and we were told that twice.

since she was admited to the hospital a few days ago her condition has improved. she has been communicating with everyone, and she even asked when she can go home. today she had an MRI, and she was sedated for that so then she was grogey afterwords and she was sleepy the rest of the day, but today was a huge improvement from what she has been like this whole week! so tomorrow morning we are hoping that she is showing more improvement and that she just still continues to recover everyday. one more thing she also asked is if she could eat something. dhe has not been able to eat anything by mouth since we found out that she has pnemonia. hopefully we can get her to recover soon and back to the nursing home and on the mend, and eating her pureed foods again.

my mom and I and Joanne have cried numerous times just seeing grandmas condition at its worst throught her ups and her downs and the spiritual moments or just the little special moments that we see. it has been so hard on all of us. we hope to have her on the mend soon and back at the nuring home with her roomate helen who is grandmas own guardian Angel.
