Another Day at work

today was a good day at work I was in the fitting rooms again and it was pretty good there, there were so many returns that needed to be done but I was not able to get them put away because I was the only one there tonight in the fitting rooms. I now have new years eve and new years day off!!! I am so excited.

on Thursday I will have one week before Orientation and then after that I will have 11 days until I start college!!!! I am getting excited about that. I think I will do good with that. when I have Orientation I will write what I learned about how the classes online work and everything. this is new for me (Doing College Classes online) so I can't wait to see what is going to be taught that may be new for me.

Good Day

today was a good day at work. I got to be in the fitting rooms most of the night. I did work in the mens department today a little bit but I left a basket that had returns in it fr4om when I was in the fitting rooms because my tail bone has been bothering me today and it felt good tosit down instead of always stand and walk, so I sat down as much as I could. I am so excited I have some more day time shifts in the future, I love having daytime shifts because then I get home earlier and everything and I have my evening left! I have a hard time with the 7:00 to 4:00 but I like that one because then if I take a 30 minute lunch I can get off at 3:30!. tomorrow I have another 2:00 to 11:00 shift but I like those ones also because I am not a morning person. well I will write more tomorrow.

Good Day at Work

today was another early shift and I am so tired but I had a good day. I am going to go to bed very soon. I hope that if I fall asleep early that I will be able to stay asleep. well today was not bad, it was not super slow but it was not totally swamped either which was so nice! I got off at 3:30 today since I took a 30 minute lunch. it was so nice to get off earlier today. well I am going to go lay down now and maybe fall asleep.

Long Slow Day at Work/ Visit with Ms.Pike!!!!

Well today was a good day. from about 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. it was totally dead at work, the phones only rang a few times during those two hours. we were more busy with returns than the phones during that time. then at about 10:00 and on the phones would not stop ringing at all. it was so crazy! I am glad I made it through the day though.

Then tonight I got to go visit with Ms.Pike and take her her Christmas Presents, we had a good visit. I can't wait until we start up piano lessons again it is going to be so much fun! I got Ms.Pike a Piano Scarf and the movie The Christmas Shoes. we visited for over an hour. I had a great time. Ms.Pike gave me a new piano book and a neat candle that smells so good and then she also gave me magnets that have each letter of my name on them, they are so cute! one of the magnets also has music notes on it. well I am getting ready for bed since I took some of my sleeping pills to make me sleep better. have a great night!

My Cute Litte Grandma

since my Birthday Party my grandma is now below 100 pounds and a diabetic and she has a feeding tube. she is so tiny and fragile but she is so cute. she now has little energy because of how much weight she has lost. I have done a few feedings today and she did really well. I can't believe how easy it is to do the feeding tube! it is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I have done all of her feedings today and I did quite well. she said I do such a great job taking care of her. today I also gave her a bath and helped her get dressed. she is just so cute! I was very loving and caring with her today and talked to her and we had a good day, we also watched many movies and Grandma wanted to watch more movies and I said to her aren't you all movied out? I said I am. I said I may fall asleep if we watch anymore movies. we didn't end up watching another movie until Enchanted came on on the TV. I just love Grandma and have enjoyed helping take care of her today. she has been so cute! she just thinks I have done a teriffic job of taking care of her. I have played I stand All Amazed for her and she so enjoys that! I will update once more before I go to bed.

2 Weeks and 3 Days until College!!!!!!

time is winding donw until I start college! I can't believe I have two weeks left before I start college. it is going to be here before I know it. I just can't believe how fast time flies. orientation is in exactly 2 weeks! I go to Orientation on January 8, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. I am so excited for orientation. well I will update tomorrow. have a wonderful evening!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Today was such a good day. today we got so much snow out at my house that Joanne and John got stuck trying to get here so Jeff had to go pick them up at the Walgreens by my house and drive them here and then John and Jeff did the driveway so jeff could get in the driveway because the snow was so deep, not even a 4 wheel drive could get in the driveway! I will take a picture of the snow tomorrow and post it on here, it was unbelieveable! I shoveled half of the driveway and it looked like I had not made a dent my longer after that, and I even was soaking wet from my head to my toes! I had so much snow in my hair that my hair was totally wet and my coat was soaking wet and my pants were wet almost to the knees! so I came in and changed my clothes and threw my pants in the dryer for 20 minutes to dry them off because I still wanted to wear them and then I got dressed in them again! they are the pants that I call my Wednesday Pants, because I always wear them on Wednesdays. then I tried shutting the garage after I was done and the garage would not shut so I had to go put my shoes back on and go outside and wipe the snow off of the sensors for the garage, then the garage door shut!

I got some pretty cool gifts tonight, I got a new Digital Camera, some new pajamas, some new pillows, two pillow cases with Joanne and I on them from Joanne and John. John also made me a waffle blanket that is just beautiful! I also got an iTunes gift card from my Aunt Kathy and I have bought some new ringtones with it for my new iPhone. I bought some Jon Schmidt Songs, David Lanz ones and Paul Cardall ones for my phone. tonight was just such a fun night even though there was sooooo much snow outside! at least we had another White Christmas. I remember the year when there was hardley any snow on the ground for Christmas and we were all wshing there was more snow that Christmas, well the past few Christmases we have had WAY more snow than we have needed! at least when I shoveled the driveway the first time there was not too much that needed to be shoveled; but it was still a lot.

Quick Update

I realized that it has been a few days since I last updated this so I thought I would update today. my grandma is now in town and she is going to be spending Christmas with my mom and I and my Aunt Joanne and Uncle John and my Cousin Billy. it is going to be so fun tomorrow. I am so excited and cannot wait for people to see what I got them. I am so excited that I will get to go visit Ms.Pike after work on Saturday! it has been so long since I last saw her. I got her some stuff that I am excited to give her. I am also excited about the presents I got for everyone else. tomorrow is going to be so much fun! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Starting College in 3 Weeks!!!!!!!!!

I am now officially down to it being three weeks until I start college! I am way excited! I am excited for my English class since I am a good writter. I have been a good writer since way back in high school. whene ever I would write a paper I always got an A on it and ocassionally a few extra points. I had to write a report for my Health class in school one time and I got extra cedit on that. I had to also write a report to make up a few days that I had missed in Biology one time and I also got an A on those. I have always loved writting. it will be so interesting to see what everything is going to be like when I go to Orientation on the 8th of January. On the 8th I will be shown how to navigate the college online stuff and how to interact with the teacher and other class mates online. my text books will also be online which is really cool.

Crazy, Busy Day

Today was very busy. I only had one 15 minute break and then a 30 minute lunch just so I could get everything done tonight. and I got as much done as I wanted to. since it is the last week before christmas the mens department has looked like a bunch of wild wolves had gone through it! I did so much folding and straightening today. I even got my basket of returns done tonight! I am glad my three day weekend is almost here, it is going to be so nice to have three days off! tonight I am going to finish my wrapping to get it all done so I am not doing it on christmas eve at 2:00 in the morning.

last weekend Before Christmas!

today was a crazy day, there were so many returns that needed to be done and so many baskets of them. then the phones were going crazy too. I could not believe how crazy it was, but what can I expect with it being the weekend before Christmas? at least the whole month has not been this way, that has been a bonus!

I am getting very excited about college, it is going to be starting for me very soon. I just can't believe I am going to be in college! well I will write more tomorrow.

Crazy Day

today I was in the fitting rooms and the phones were ringing more than there were people coming in the fitting rooms. the phone rang so much I answered the phone on one phone call and called my wal-mart the West Jordan Wal-Mart, the South Jordan Wal-Mart and I think there was at least one other wal-mart I had almost started saying before I said my own Riverton Wal-Mart. I just could not believe that I did that. I was just loosing it today as far as the phones go. I can't believe it is the last weekend before Christmas. I think that is why the phones were so nuts today. well besides all that I did have a good day and I got off at 10:30 because I took a 30 minute lunch so that was nice. have a wonderful weekend!

Wrapping Presents

Today along with not doing a whole lot except for playing the piano I have continued to finish wrapping my gifts for everyone. I am almost done wrapping though. Today I was shoveling the driveway and I slipped at the bottom of the driveway and I did not see any ice anywhere. I fell on my butt so now it is a little sore. I was afraid I broke my tail bone but it is not broken. I would be in a lot more pain if it was. I probably just sprained it. so after that I came in and played the piano some more. I have been playing a song that I got off of a website called http://www.writtenmelodies.com , it is a neat website and has music arrangments for the Cello, Piano, Guitar, Violin, and Flute (I think). it has been so nice not having to do anything or go anywhere today at all, yesterday was so busy and crazy I am glad today that I just was able to do nothing all day! I even slept in until noon. my weeks of being able to do nothing are coming to an end since school is going to be starting very soon. it will be here before I know it!

I can't believe there are only 6 more days until Christmas! where has the year gone? I will have been working at Wal-Mart 1 year on April 24, 2009. I just can't believe everything that has happened in this year. with me going to school and working at Wal-Mart and everything that we always have going, which is not always a lot but sometimes it seems like there is a lot going on some weeks than others. 3 weeks, and 4 days until I start college!!!

I am getting very excited about college! I now have less than a month and college is actually going to begin for me. I am so glad that I am now closer to home so I will have enough time before work to work on my school work and I can also stay up a little bit later to after I get home to work on my school work until midnight or a little after.

my orientation is going to be on January 8, 2009. that is on a Thursday. I am so excited about that because I have the day off so I won't have to ask if I can work in the morning because orientation is going to be at 6:00 p.m. that evening. I can't believe I can actually start using my school stuff very soon. along with my backpack that has been gathering dust little by little I am sure!

Christmas Party

well today was a busy day with cooking all of the food for the Christmas party. it took me the longest to do the soup because of chopping Vegetables and cooking and shreading the cheese for the soup. I did finish it in time for us to leave and go to the party. I had a lot of fun at the Christmas Party. we played Bhristmas Bingo and also went to this other thing where there were all of these different nativities at this one house made by people in Africa and all those kinds of countries. it was really neat! I will update more tomorrow.

Making Cheese Cake

well the reason I am still up at 2:11 a.m. is because I am making the cheese cake. I am baking the first batch and then the second batch is going to go in the oven. I had to make it tonight so I would have enough time for the soup. The Soup takes a lot of prep time with the chopping of the broccoli so that is what is going to take me the longest with that. I can't wait to see how the soup turns out tomorrow. I am sure it will taste great! I am so excited for the Christmas party it is going to be so much fun! see you all there in a few hours.

CBL's at work

for those of you who are wondering what CBL stands for it stands for Computer Based Learning. I had to do one of those today and pass it with 100%. it only took me 4 times until I passed it but I did it. my lowest score was 90%. I was also a few days late on the CBL so it was highlighted in red until I completed it and passed it. I am glad I was told I had one to do other wise I would have never known. that happened at the South Jordan Store, I thought I had finished all of my CBL'S and there were still some for the shoes department that needed to be done and they were a few months late so I hurried and did them before they would get any later. when you have late CBL's it is not good and you can get in trouble for it so you have to get them done as soon as you can. you also have to check every so often to make sure you are up to date on them and that there are no outstanding CBL's.

today was a good day I worked in the fitting rooms for the bulk of the evening but I enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait until my weekend starts I need some more good nights of rest. tonight was a little crazy with the sleep situation. I fell asleep on the couch until about 2:00 a.m. and then I am going to go to bed in Just a few minutes again to get more sleep. I am so excited for Wednesday it is going to be so much fun. tomorrow I get to work on one of my dishes after I get home from work at 11:00 p.m., it should only take me a few hours to do.

I also forgot to mention that on week 49 at work I get to have some daytime shifts! I am so excited about that. some of them are going to be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and some of them are going to be 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. I am so excited about that that I will get home and still have some of my day left. I also have new years eve and new years day off!!! that is way exciting to. and if everything works out I should have Christmas eve off and then of course the only day that wal-mart is closed is on Christmas Day! well everyone have a great night and a good week!

Busy Day at Work

today was just a little bit busy. the mens department was crazy! there was a lot that needed to be done so I just did what was going to take the longest first then I did the things that would take less time last. I am still tired from yesterday. I need a few more nights of good rest! I am going to go to bed in a few minutes again so I can get some good sleep. I hope Nina does not call me tomorrow morning because I need my sleep badly! I am getting excited for Wednesday for the Family Christmas Party. I can't wait for everything that we are going to be doing that day.

Jon Schmidt Christmas Concert!

today was a very fun day. the Jon Schmidt Christmas Concert is always so fun every year. this year he played a few different songs from last year. I really liked that. he also played one that I was hoping he would play. he played "Road Trip" that was the first song he played today. I was so excited when he was playing it. I wish he had that song on one of his CD's or in one of his piano books! I would love to learn that song.

a while back ago I had mailed Jon Schmidt the Movie August Rush and a little note with it and tonight he thanked me for that and he gave me a hug for sending that to him. I am so glad he got it! he remembered me from when he came out to my house on my 21st Birthday. I am so glad he did. I mean after a bash like that how could he forget! that was such a fun night when he came to my house. I told my mom I would like to have him all to myself one on one so I can listen to his beautiful piano playing. I have a connection to maybe be able to get him to myself. I have an old Seminary teacher who knows Jon Schmidt. I am going to email my connection and see what he can do for me.

I can't wait until Jon Schmidts Summer Concert at the Sandy Amphetheatre, it is going to be so much fun. he always does a great job with entertaining the crowds with his humor and of course his playing the piano!

Jon Schmidt Concert Tomorrow

I am so excited for the Jon Schmidt Concert tomorrow. it will be nice to get out of the house and do something fun on the snowy day we are going to have tomorrow. at least the concert is in doors so we will not be getting snowed on like if we were to be at the Sandy Amphatheatre. we just better be able to go inside of Kingsburry Hall tomorrow if it is a blizzard again like it was last year when we went to the Jon Schmidt Christmas Concert. I have been waiting for this day for so long and I thought it would never get here, but now it is finally here! have a wonderful weekend.

Potluck Luncheon/Christmas Shopping

today was a very fun day. I had my potluck Luncheon with all the Associates at the Riverton Wal-Mart and that lasted almost two hours. then while I was waiting for John and Joanne to pick me up I went and did some Christmas Shopping. I am so excited for Christmas it is going to be so fun!. it has been nice this year to not have too many crowds during this time of year because with it being two weeks away from Christmas crowds are pretty good.

I have a story from when I was back in High School that I will never forget. I believe I was in 10th Grade and I was in my first semester of High School and I was taking a Child Development class. well it was on December 6th that Joanne and I were going christmas shopping and we had several stores to go to and the crowds were crazy, well I had just finished my shopping and I was waiting for Joanne to pick me up at the Front door of Wal-Mart and I had one of those dolls that you had to take care of and I had two drinks that were balancing on the window seal; well needless to say the baby started screaming as joanne pulled up and those drinks were just balancing on the edge, well the flew off the edge and hit the floor! so I grabbed my stuff and the carseat and just left the drink there spilled! so after that drama at the Wal-Mart I just told joanne what to get for me at our next stops we had to make so I did not have to take the baby in any stores again. that was a total Nightmare!

I think at that time when I had that doll with me I had to babysit a real baby so my mom ended up staying home with the doll and taking care of it because she did not want me to take it baby sitting with me so she was watching the doll for me and she had to call me a few times because the doll would not stop crying. I have so many stories of that doll I could go on for hours! this would be so many paragraphs long if I just kept going on and on about all of my experiences with that doll.

Back when I was in 9th grade I was in teen living and we were in the second term of teen living and I remember I started out with a D+ in the class and I knew I could do so much better in that class so I did all the work up until Mid-Terms and I got my Grade up to a B+ by that time. well that grade still was not good enough for me since I knew I could get an A in that class, so I told my teacher I would like to take the Baby Think it over doll home for the weekend and she said okay and sent me on my way with it. then when Monday came I returned it to her and I got 50 Extra Credit Points for it. my grade still was not what I wanted it so I waited a few more weeks then I signed up for the doll again and my teacher said to me are you sure you want to take the doll home again! and I said yes I do, she said you aren't tired of it and I said nope I will take it again. so I took it again for a second time and went on my way then the weekend got over and I had to return it again and I got another 50 Extra Credit points, by this time my grade was at an A and I was at about 133.33% in that class.

the teacher I took that class from her name was Mrs.Ricks and she was so wonderful, when she saw my grade was a D+ she pulled me to the side and said is everything okay Kandice because you are behind in my class and you are getting a D+. she said I know you can do so much better than that, she told me I was missing four assignments and that I had to turn those in if I wanted a better grade. so I turned them in and that is when my grade went up to a B+ by Mid-Terms.

I am so appreciative of her for doing that for me because she helpped me. any of my other teachers that I had gotten that kind of grade in their class did not ever pull me to the side and ask me what is going on, they just let me go and let me get the grade I received in their class. I had Mrs.Ricks all three years of my Junior High years. I had her for a TLC teacher in 7th Grade and then 8th Grade I was her T.A. and 9th Grade I was her T.A. and I was also in her Teen Living class. she was the best teacher I could have had in the beginning of Junior High.

when I become a Teacher I am going to br that way with my Students because you should help them as much as possible, I think that is very important. it will help the student also if you are that kind of teacher. they will know that you truely care about them succeeding in your class. I think this is the longest blog I have ever written, 7 Paragraphs, WOW! well I am not going to end it and continue my wrapping! I am almost done with the presents I have so far. have a great rest of the week and a great weekend!

Fun Day

Today was a fun day being with Joanne and John. we ran around to a few places and John and I went to my old South Jordan Wal-Mart to meet with Fernanda about positions she has open in TLE and there were none right now. then I also got the stuff for my potluck dish I am bringing tomorrow for the luncheon the Apparel Department is having. I am so excited about that because I made my Cheese Cake Pie again. I also was able to find a Gift for $5.00 for the gift exchange tomorrow. I will post tomorrow after the potluck luncheon and update on how it went. John also got some shoes and a few things. we also went to the Guitar store to get some Guitar Strings. that store was cool. there were a lot of cool Guitars there.

Good Day at Work

Today was a good day. I worked in three different departments and got the returns done for three different departments; Mens, Boys and Girls, and Infants. I left no baskets at all that had anything in them. the Boys and the Girls departments are separated by Accessories so I went all over the store today. I am going to give it one month and see how things work out.

on Thursday we have a potluck luncheon we are having in apparrel and I am making my Chocolate Lover's Cheesepie! I am so excited about that. it is going to be a lot of fun. as I have talked to the girls in Apparel it is easier and easier all the time. I just hope I will end up just wanting to stay there, we will see what happens. there is a girl named Rachel and a Girl named Nikki that I work with and they are nice, and there is also this lady named Janice who works 7:00 to 4:00 and she is so funny! I really am starting to like the people over here but I still think about the South Jordan Wal-Mart often.

I was texting one of my friends from over there and she said it is weird not having me over there. I just wish I could have someone like her at this wal-mart who is as sweet to me as she was and is. I will update when I have my potluck thing on Thursday.

One other Thing

I forgot to add that it is very peaceful which is so nice, there are noit many screaming kids and kidds who run all over the place and the departments are not as crazy to get cleaned up. I love how quiet it is at this Wal-Mart and another thing I like is that I am not stuck in the fitting rooms all night! that is wonderful. I guess I am just not use to enjoying all the time I have because I have not had that time to enjoy my job and be able to get my work done for so long. at the Riverton Wal-Mart I am on top of everything so my department always looks really good. I am going to pray tonight and see what happens tomorrow.

Starting College on January 12,2008

today I found out that I am starting school for sure on the 12th of January. I am excited about that. I am still trying to get settled into my new wal-mart. it is not easy but I am trying to deal with it the best I can. it is just a lot harder to get use to the different people and the different smells around there. I smell the TLE a lot, only in some parts of the store. today it was not so bad in the mens department with the smell as it is right back by site to store. I hope I can get more comfortable there. I really would like to be able to. I love being close to home that is way nice. there are a few younger than me that work there and one that is not very friendly to anyone. I should just be glad that I am not the only one she has been that way to. I miss my friends at the other store. maybe in June or July I can transfere back to the South Jordan Wal-Mart. I hope to be able to drive then. I also hope to be able to work day wither it be at the Riverton Wal-Mart or South Jordan Wal-Mart. I am just tired of working so late into the night. I just feel like I will never be able to work during the day. I am going to go check out the food department tomorrow when I get there because they have associates stocking shelves from 10:00 to 7:00 p.m. if that looks like something I would like to do I may talk to Kevin about that tomorrow.

I met a few of the daytime shift people in the fitting rooms, and one of them was Janice she was so nice. I would love to be able to work during the day with her one day. I thought leaving the South Jordan Wal-Mart would be a lot easier than it has been. I think I will give it more time and decide then. I do really like only having a 5 minute commute that is wonderful and not dealing with so much traffic. it is a lot less stressful of a ride that is one major plus that is very nice. I just need to get out of my shell and start talking to people again to get myself comfortable with them. I am going to think very hard the next few days that I have off and think about the pros and cons of each place. well I will update on what I find out from Kevin Tomorrow.

First Day at Riverton Wal-Mart

Today was a good day for me although I am still having a hard time getting use to the people an getting use to being out of my comfort zone. it has been really hard for me to leave my friends at the South Jordan Wal-Mart. I also do not like how the Riverton Wal-Mart is set up. I feel like I can smell the TLE every where (Tire Lube and Express). I hope I can get use to it. the people are wonderful except for this teenage girl in the fitting rooms that i thought was a little rude. I hope I can start making friends at this Wal-Mart because then I will be more comfortable there. well I will update on tomorrow. over all my day was good at the Riverton Wal-Mart I just need to give it more time over there.

Last Day at the South Jordan Wal-Mart

Today was a very hard day for me. I was okay while I was at work and while I was walking out but once I got in the car and was driving away I just started to cry because I am going to miss all of my good friends I have made there. I have made more friends at this job than any other job I have had because at my other jobs I was the oldest associate who was not a manager because the managers were all older than me. I also loved this job because everyone did truely work as a team! and that is what working with a group of people is all about. I know I will make new friends at the Riverton Wal-Mart but they are not going to be the same as the friends I have at the South Jordan Wal-Mart. there are some wonderful people at the Riverton Wal-Mart that I know it will be fun to work with. I will update on my first day at the Riverton Wal-Mart tomorrow.

1 More Day at South Jordan Wal-Mart

well tomorrow is my last day at the South Jordan Wal-Mart. tomorrow is going to be tough for me I have enjoyed all of the friends I have made there. I have numbers of three of them so I can keep in contact with them. I am going to give the Riverton Wal-Mart six months and if I don't like it I am going to transfer back to the South Jordan Wal-Mart. I am excited to go to a new place to get to know new people but it is just very hard to leave the good people I have met behind. it will be nice to start of fresh with new fresh people and personalities. I will update more on my first day at the Riverton Wal-Mart and I will update tomorrow on how my last day at the South Jordan Wal-Mart was.

Meeting with Riverton Wal-Mart People

today I met with Kevin in personnel and I met a few of the other people in personnel and the managers. I am just a little nervous about the transition but it is because I feel like it is all happening all so fast that I have not had too much time to think about everything so I got scared and started crying. I am okay about it now but I just feel like I have not had much time to think about it at all. I am getting excited about working over there. the people seem very nice and I just love how peaceful the Wal-Mart is! I know I will really like it once I get settled in. I just have a hard time with change because change is just not easy! all of the managers seem wonderful, even the manager over my department, her name is Anna she was so nice and just very fun. I will start on December 6th!!!!!

Almost Done at South Jordan Wal-Mart!

well I have four more days left at the South Jordan Wal-Mart, it is going to be hard to leave some of the people over there. some of them I will not miss and some of them I will. today as I was leaving I had bought some stuff from wal-mart and the people greeter must have been a new associate at Wal-Mart because she made me feel like I was some thug who was a theif! she said I have to see your reciept or I will have to get my supervisor over here, and I had my Wal-Mart name badge on so she knew I was an employee of Wal-Mart. she made me feel so angry and made me feel bad and all I wanted to do was to get home and relax because it is now officially my weekend!!!! I just could not believe how I got treated by the people greeter, I hope the people greeters at the Riverton Wal-Mart are nothing like the people Greeters at the South Jordan Wal-Mart! at least after Wednesday I will only have two days left at the South Jordan Wal-Mart! thank Goodness, this week is going by really slow especially with how excited and anxious I am to get to the Riverton Wal-Mart.
