Driving Lesson Today

today after I got off of work my uncle John and I went driving around in the church parking lot that was just up the hill from my house. I did really well. John even let me drive the car back to my house. I thought the beginning was a little rough but once I got use to the car I did not do so bad. all I know is that I am going to be a very safe driver. I even stayed in the lines on the road! I was so proud of myself. I am so excited to be able to get driving very soon, then I can drive myself to work and to my piano lesson!

I was so afraid to pull out in front of people so I waited until there were no cars on the road so I could pull out of the church parking lot and not be nervous. I did great today, I can't wait until my next driving lesson! John was so calm and I really liked that about him, he was very calm and not even nervous about me driving the car to my house! I think I was more nervous than he was.

today I had an early shift at work so that is why I was ablle to go driving with John tonight, he picked me up from work at 4:30 and then we found the church parking lot that we wanted to go into. I wish I could have had someone take a video or a picture of me driving so I could post it on here. maybe when I get my official drivers lisence I will have to post a picture of me driving away in my car all by myself!

Phantom Play

This play was a great play tonight. it was not what I was expecting it to be at all. it was very good. It was totally different than the movie I have seen. I really enjoyed it a lot even though it was much more different than the movie. The music was way more different than the movies music was.

This play and the actors and actresses did very well with their parts, they were all very good. I even cried a little bit towards the end of the play. It was a very touching play.

busy school week

I remember I said I would update after my first week of school; well I kind of forgot to do that now that I am in my 2nd week of my 2nd block of classes. the first week was a little rough. Some of the assignments for English are a little tough and I am having a hard time understanding them so I am still trying to figure out an assignment that was due in week one. if I do not post it before 11:59 tomorrow night I will not receive any credit for it. I am not going to let it get to that point since this assignment is a 50 point assignment. I will already lose 30% of my grade on it which for right now is only 15 points.

My new English instructor is wonderful and is very concerned about how I feel with the work in this class. It is hard stuff but I am going to make it through this class. My instructor for this class gets back to me quickly, I am the one who can never get to her in a good amount of time because I am at work in the evenings. yesterday I did email her on my lunch break from my phone to be able to get back to her quickly.

Today I have also been able to get back to her quickly since I have not had to work, so that has helpped me, just to be able to contact her throughout the day. It really helps when I have time to sit here in front of my computer so I can get my questions answered quickly and that I can also get back to my instructor quickly.

I will update again tomorrow :)

Happy Birthday Gracie!!!!

I have been very touched by the story of Gracie. I have followed her story for a long time. she was born with a congenital heart deffect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) on March 20, 2008. she passed away 18 days before her first birthday after her new heart did not work after her surgery at the end of February.

From reading Gracie's Blog she seems like she was a sweet little angel from Day 1. I have had a hard time not thinking about Gracie since she passed away. eventhough I never knew her personally I will firever hold a place for her and her family in my heart. I learned about Gracie's story after reading Paul Cardall's blog a few months back. through Gracie's story I have been touched in a way that I can't describe.

ever since Gracie passed away I thought about doing a little tribute to her on my blog, to let her family know how much her story has touched me. Gracie was such a beautiful baby! there is a song called Gracie Girl and I love that song because it talks about sweet little Gracie Girl!!!! the lyrics to that song are on Gracie's Blog at http://thegledhillfamily.blogspot.com you can also hear the song on her blog. there are many pictures for her on there also through the months that she lived. also when you go to her blog there is a link to donate to Gracie's Tree; her family and some friends are doing a tree for her this year for the Festival of the Trees. I go to that as often as I can. My mom and I are for sure going to go this year we already have our tickets so we will be able to go on auction night up there. I can tell you this is going to be an amazing year with probably a lot more amazing and beautiful trees in addition to Gracie's beautiful Tree.

Happy Birthday Sweet Gracie Girl!!!!

Piano Lessons Today!!!!!

Today I had a great pianolesson. now I will not have a piano lesson for another two weeks. I had a great time. after my lesson I came home and recorded myself playing my part of the piece I will be playing with david and then I played the melody part on the piano while the recorded me was playin along on the tape. I did pretty well on the 2nd page, but I still need to work on getting the melody to match up with what I have recorded for the First Page. it sounds great so far though. when I figure out how to get a video on here I will record it and put it on here. I have yet to figure that out! I can't wait Until April 1st; by then I will have 4 new songs picked out to learn and then Ms.Pike and I will be going over them.

Have a Great Weekend!!

Final Project Score for GEN 105

today I found out that my score for my Student Survival Guide is 250/250!!!!! I kind of knew I was going to do good on my project for that class. my instructor said that it is obvious that I worked on it very hard! and in fact I started that project the day it was due! it did not take me long to do it at all; I just had to follow a list of things to talk about as it was listed in the grading rubric. The Grading Rubric helped me a lot!

my Final Grade for this class is an A- at 91.50%. I am just so glad I was able to at least get an A- out of that class. in Both English and this class I had an u until week 8 and then it went down to an A- (which is still great!). if I would have had a few assignments that were big assignments in Gen 105 in on time I would still have an A, but the assignment that made me loose my A was a 100 point assignment that I lost 43 points on for it being 4 days late! that was the big crusher! never again will I ever have a 100 point assignment be 1 day late or 4 days late, No Way!

In English I had two 100 point assignments that were both only one day late. On one of them I lost 12 points and the other I only lost 10 points; but it adds up. If I have the bigger assignments in on time then my grade will not be affected, but if they are late then they will damage my grade and keep me from getting an A. considering that I am in college and I was able to get an A- in an English class is amazing to me! that I could pull that off myself! even with a few late assignments. but at least I did not let the late assignments take over my good grade! I was still able to maintain the drive to keep my grades good.

Final Project results for English

today I received my essay score back from my English instructor. I received 225/250 which is still an A- grade on my paper, so I left the class with an A- grade. now I am just waiting to hear back from my GEN 105 instructor. my classes ENG 102 and CIS 105 are going good so far. of course we are only in our second day of classes. Today I have DQ due for CIS 105, I may just do that when I get home tonight.

I am so excited for tomorrow, because that is when david is coming to cottonwood and we are going to practice together! tomorrow I will post and write how it went. I am just beyond excited for tomorrow. I just hope I don't get nervous while practicing.

Projects Complete!!!!!!!!

What a day!!! well it took me the whole day to do both of my classes. I have been working so hard on them today with only a few breaks in between my projects. I took today off instead of having Thursday off so I could get my projects done and in on time. if I would have had to work today I would have never been able to get my projects in on time, and therefore I would have forfited 250 points and would have been close to not passing my classes! the projects were 25% of my grade for both classes, so that would have affected them quite a bit. I could have been at a B- with English and lower than that with Gen 105 since I am already getting a B+ in that class. I would have had a D+, and a D+ is not passing in college. I would have had to at least get a C. but since I did my project I will not have to worry about loosing too much of my grade, maybe it will just stay where it is at, I am hoping!

Tomorrow is my first day of my new classes! I am so excited! I can't wait to see how these next two classes go, tomorrow all I have to do is post my bio and it is already completed from the last time I had to post it so that is not going to take much effort. My new instructors are both female so I cannot wait to see how both of them are in how they teach their classes and how they are with the students. I will update more after my first week on how my new instructors are.

4 more days left until my new classes begin!!!!!!

I am so excited to be starting some new classes. I sure hope in my next set of classes I have some good instructors again. My instructor for English this term has been good the past few weeks with me. he has helped me understand things better that when I first started his class. My instructor for Gen 105 has been excellent the whole time! this past week I had a hard week and my assignments were all late for GEN 105, including one 100 point assignment that I lost 40 points! on for it being so late, because I lost track of when it was due, and thanks to my instructor for reminding me I was able to get it in on the 4th day before I lost all of my points on that assignment. on week 8 I just was very dissapointed in the way week 7 ended so I was not as hard working in that class as I have been the past 6 weeks previous to week 7.

Today I had no piano lesson, but I am so looking forward to next wednesday! I am beyond excited. Next week David is coming to Cottonwood with his cello and he and I are going to practice the song together that I have been working so hard on for the past month, or maybe two months. I am so excited for that day because it will be so cool to see how we both sound together. I have improved so much this week on the last few pages of that song! I have worked very hard this week on really not messing up and just to keep going even if I make a mistake on any part of the song. Ms.Pike has always told me "great musicians keep going even if they make a mistake" I can say that 4 years ago I use to always go back and fix a mistake on the piano, and when I did that it only made the mistake bigger and more obvious. Ms.Pike has taught me so much and she has made me the great musician that I have become!

In less than a week I will be starting my new classes on March 16, 2009. I am so excited. I also know that these classes may be a little more challenging and difficult! I am looking forward to my computer class, it seems like it will be a fun class. I have this one friend named Erin, not Ms.Pike (Erin), but an Erin that lives all the way in Georgia, I am going to copy and past something she has written about me for our final capstone discussion question; she said "I also just wanted to say that through reading all of your responses throughout class, I can tell you are going to do an excellent job. You put a lot of time into your work, you take it seriously and you have a great love for writing which makes it easier for you. Don't give up, you are well on your way and good luck!" this is what she told me at the end of a response she wrote to me from our last DQ. She has been so wonderful, and I would love to meet her one day. she has a cute little boy by the name of chance who has eye problems and she has asked me all about that with my eye experiences and what it was like for me when I had my eye surgeries. her son is about 15 months old and he needs his surgery in about 3 to 4 months because his eyes are so bad. Erin has always been one to give me good feedback and has been very helpful with some of the most difficult assignments in English. In return I have also helped her in GEN 105, by emailing her the rubrics for the checkpoints and assignments because her instructor never did that for her class and she said it is a lot easier when you know what you are expected to do than to just guess and just do it by how you think it should be done.

well this blog is so long, but since it is my last week of my first two classes I had a lot to say! I hope everyone is doing well. I will update on how my first week of my next classes is going after I have completed my first week.

Purrrrfect moment!

this is my Kitty tonight, she was sleeping in my lap while I have been on my computer working on my school assignments. I thought this was so cute, because she never does this, EVER! so I thought I would capture the moment. this picture was taken from my iPhone! she stayed in my lap for a good 30 minutes! I just had to share this picture because she was so cute!

I am almost done with my assignments for school that were due for week 8, so I will update once again before I go to bed tonight. week 9 I hope will be smoothe, so in order for that to happen I am going to start working on my stuff for week 9 tomorrow.

Beginning week 9 of school!!!!

This is the last week for my first two classes! I am so excited to be getting onto my next two classes. this past week has been so stressful with school, trying to get my assignments in on time has been a little bit harder. I am getting very nervous about the big project for both of my classes, I know I will do good on mmy Expository essay, but the student survival guide for Gen 105, I don't know I am nervous about that one. week 8 was so hard for me in GEN 105 because my assignments for that week were late and I lost points on them. in that class if I do good this week I will still be able to pull an A-. I am going to do my best this week to get everything in ontime; although my instructor has made it very clear that even if the student survival guide is 1 minute late we will recieve a "0" on the project. It will be such a relief to have these first two classes out of the way. I will try to update again tonight when I get home from work.

Student website problems

for the past few days there have been technical problems with being able to get into my classes. I have a few assignments that were due tonight, but due to the student website being down so much lately I have not been able to get them in on time. this week for the last three days of week 8 I was supposed to post comments to students DQ's, and I have not even been able to do that for GEN 105. Due to these issues, my grade in GEN 105 is starting to go down even more. if these problems keep happening I do not know how well I will do in GEN 105 by March 15th. this is just a little frusteating because here I am at the end of the term, and I was sailing along great, then all these problems started happening and here I am getting docked on my assignments because of issues that are not in my control. I just wish this was a dream and that this was not really happening to me, because my grade in GEN 105 would not be suffering.

I hope these issues can get worked out very soon so I am not stressed about this, so I can continue to keep my good grade in English, and so I can continue to try to keep GEN 105's grade where it is at so it does not go down lower.

I will update more tomorrow if I am able to actually complete anything and actually post it tomorrow.

Piano Lesson Today!!!

Today I had a very nice lesson, it was so much fun! today it was so funny, while Ms.Pike was taking a 10 minute break during my lesson to go eat before she had parent teacher conferences, I went in one of the practice rooms and checked to see what piano sounded best so I could bring it in her room so we could play the song I am going to be playing with david very soon, together and I brought two pianos in her room because I could not tell which one sounded the best. so, when she came back Ms.Pike and Mrs.Tuckness were just coming in he room with ANOTHER piano. and Mrs.Tuckness looked in the room like she was stuned that there were already two pianos in Ms.Pikes room, and Ms.Pike had her back to me so she did not see it until I said "Ms.Pike" and she looked over and she started laughing. she said "I should have paid more attention", Mrs.Tuckness then said something funny, I can't remember exactly what she said but it was funny. I should have gottena picture of all of this happening, but I did not :( it was so funny, Ms.Pike and I were just laughing! she said I should have known, and I just laughed, so did she. it was just so funny. you would have had to have been there to see what was happening to really laugh about it because it was just hularious!!!

Ms.Pike said I am doing really good on the song of Davids, and that all I have to work on are the last two or three pages of the song, and get them down really well. I can't believe how far I have come in the song, and the performance is not until May! so I have a long time to still get it perfect! I really enjoy playing the song with Ms.Pike, she makes it so fun! we will be going over a different song next week hopefully, since we did not get a chance to do it today since we practiced the whole time on the song I will be playing with David in May.

Next week I sahould have a lesson, also next week is the last week for my first two classes of college! I hope I do good on the 250 point project! I am so nervous about that. I just can't wait to begin my next two classes on March 16th! for my computer class we will be doing a power point project as our final 250 project, and I am excited for that project because I have a feeling I will do really good on that one. I will update more tomorrow.

Busy, Busy, Busy week

I noticed that I have not posted anything since the 26th of February. I have just been so tired and very busy, that I have not had time for updating this like I have wanted to. I always come home and barley make it through my homework and then I am dead. tonight after I finish this I am going right to bed. this past week I have not been able to get a very good night sleep for at least 3 or 4 days.

I am now in week 8 of my first two classes, and I still have A's. my grade percentages are dropping little by little, but are still above a 94%. in English I am at a 96.60%, and Gen 105, I am at a 96.84%. the final project for my two classes is due on March 15th, and they are both worth 250 points!. my essay for English is coming along, but my survival guide for Gen 105, I have not even started on. my survival guide for Gen 105 has to be somewhere around 1,250 to 1,300 words. I think it will be a relief for me when these two classes are over, and I can begin my two new ones. My next two classes are going to be as I have said in one of my previous blogs, CIS 105, and ENG 102.

Tomorrow I have a piano lesson, and I am so looking forward to it! I can't even wait. the song I am playing with david is coming right along. I am infact doen learning it, now all that comes next is practicing it with Ms.Pike every week until the performance, which I found out will be on May 9, 2009.

Also, this week at work I just had my 1 year Evaluation with my former manager, Anna, and she said I am doing really well. I will also be getting a 40 cent raise!!!! so I will be making $ 8.60 an hour! I was so excited when I heard I was going to be getting a raise. I have not even had a raise since I started working at Wal-Mart, now I will be making a little more than I requested to be making when I first applied at Wal-Mart. I think I may head to bed very soon. I will update more tomorrow! (for sure!)
