No Piano Lesson Today

Today I did not have a piano lesson, but I have been playing the piano quite a bit today. I have also tried recording more songs onto a CD. I want to try to have a CD complete for next wednesday when I have my piano lesson. I want to try to bring a copy for Mr.Martin and Mrs.Ricketts and surprise them. I am going to try to put 10 or 12 songs onto the CD by next wednesday, or Tuesday.

I have also been trying to work on my school assignments. right now in my classes I am having a difficult time, English I am doing better in than my computer class. when my CIS 105 Instructor updates my grades from week 3 I will have a C-, she still has not quite updated everything for that week. in my English class right now I am at C but it will also be going up after this week. I am just a hair below a C+, I am at 76.67% and a C+ is 77-79% so I will get there by the end of the 3rd week, or beginning of the 4th week.

This Past week at work has been busy which has been great! I have also still been getting 40 hours a week. there are a few people who are getting 32 - 35 hours a week right now. I have been getting 40 hours for the past month I would say. I need it though, I need all the hours I can get because I have my student loan payments coming up in May.

I will update again a little bit later.

Recital With David Soon

Today I found out from David that his recital is for sure on May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. that is a Saturday afternoon. David also said he wants me to prepare 15 to 20 minutes of songs for the recital to play on my own. I am getting way excited about this! I may bring my CD Recorder and record the whole recital, that would be so cool! then it will be something we will always have.

The recital is in a little over a month, I can't wait! tomorrow I am going to decide which songs I would like to play at the recital. I already have two in mind, but I need to time them and see how long they both are. I may post which songs I have chosen for the recital tomorrow that is coming up. Or I may just let it be a surprise!

Have a great night

Paul Cardall's Benefit Concert

Tonight my mom and I and Joanne and Jeff and Jesse went to the benefit concert for Paul Cardall! It was an amazing concert put on by some amazing people who are friends of Paul's that you can tell really truely care about their friend Paul Cardall. Everyone involved in the concert for Paul did an Awsome! job.

There was even a Tribiute to Gracie Gledhill at Paul's Concert. what was so neat is that paul played a song that he wrote for Gracie called "Gracie's Theme". he came up at the very end and played that song, he did such a wonderful job! Paul and his wife Lynette were at the concert the whole night all the way until the end with their sweet little girl Eden, who is a complete doll! she was so cute!

I really enjoyed this concert tonight! I cried in the beginning because it was just so amazing and the emotion and amazing spirit that was felt in the beginning for me was amazing! Paul is truely a Miracle! I have great faith that he will make it through this surgery! I know he will! Paul is an amazing gentle man and I think he still has so much to live for in this life, for his wife, his sweet daughter Eden and most of all, to be able to share his feelings through his amazing musical talent!

Busy Work Day

Today I did a lot a freight! I put a new modular together and then I had to put the overstock back up in the bins in the back of my sstore. I worked 9:00 to 6:00 today. It was so nice to get home early. I did take a little nap because my head was kind of hurting today, but now my head feels better.

Today I have done my participation for my CIS 105 class, now all I have to do is the assignment for today. It is an Internet Scavenger Hunt, which is going to be a little hard but I will be able to do the assignment. I am now in my 3rd week of classes and my grades have not gone down and they have not gone up. I hope I will see some improvement with them soon.

Tonight I got a power nap so I do not feel completely dead tired, but I am going to go to bed in a few so that I can get some good rest tonight and wake up refreshed tomorrow mornng for anothe long day of work.

I will update tomorrow!

Making a CD/ Update on School

Today while I had a pretty relaxed day I worked on making a CD. I figured out how to work my CD Recorder so I can record me playing some songs. The only thing is is that I am not a good page turner so you can hear me turning the pages really fast sometimes. this next week if Ms.Pike and I have a lesson again I am going to talk to her about maybe making my CD this summer and then maybe getting it done in time for Christmas for 2009! I had a lot of fun experimenting with the CD Recorder I really enjoyed it, I can't wait until tomorrow when I get home from work because I am going to also buy more CD-RW's so I can use as many as I want. my plan is to surprise Ms.Pike with something next week if I can get a CD put together all by myself!

It has been a stressful couple of weeks for my classes, I am fianlly caught up and I have not had to do too much work on my days off besides the one DQ for CIS 105 today which was easy. then tomorrow I already have the English assignment done that is due for tomorrow and it is turned in so all I have to do is my CIS 105 assignment! and participation for CIS 105. I have almost met the number of required posts for a Discussion week. In a discussion week we have to post two substantive posts three out of 7 days, and so far I have posted 2 substantive posts for 2 out of the 7 days and I plan on posting 2 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. so the only days I will not have posted anything will have been Monday or Tuesday of Week 3.

Right now I have a C in English and I still have an F in CIS 105, but that should go up to a C- as soon as my instructor puts this one assignment on my grade. I hope my grades start going up here soon since we are almost already to week 4 and close to being half way through these classes. I really want to see some improvement in my English grade here soon, because I know I can do a lot better than what I am doing in that class. my CIS 105 class I do not expect to get anything above a C, if I do by the end of the term I will be so excited. especially for doing it all by myself with no help!

Piano Lesson's Today

Today I had a really good piano lesson. I got to pick 5 new songs! I am excited to start working on them this week. I got a few David Lanz songs, a Few Jon Schmidt Songs and then of course David's song I will be playing with him in about a month. although, I do not need to spend a lot of time on that song. I mainly need to focus on the new songs I got. I can't wait until I can play some of the new songs I got really well because they all sound beautiful!

I also can tell that I need to do my Hannon Finger Exercises, my fingers are becoming very weak! especially in the left hand. I need to practice my Scales and then the other regular Hannon Exercises. Even Ms.Pike said my fingers are becoming weak from not doing my finger exercises, which I cannot remember the last time I did my finger exercises (which is not a good sign) it must have been a few months at least!

Ms.Pike told me that I have done very well on the song I will be playing with david and that we will not be going over that song so much now that I have that song down really well. It will be nice to go on to other new songs since I have been on that song for quite some time. A new song I am learning is one from August Rush! it is so beautiful, but it is going to take a little bit of work, especially on the last few pages.

Driving Lesson Today

today after I got off of work my uncle John and I went driving around in the church parking lot that was just up the hill from my house. I did really well. John even let me drive the car back to my house. I thought the beginning was a little rough but once I got use to the car I did not do so bad. all I know is that I am going to be a very safe driver. I even stayed in the lines on the road! I was so proud of myself. I am so excited to be able to get driving very soon, then I can drive myself to work and to my piano lesson!

I was so afraid to pull out in front of people so I waited until there were no cars on the road so I could pull out of the church parking lot and not be nervous. I did great today, I can't wait until my next driving lesson! John was so calm and I really liked that about him, he was very calm and not even nervous about me driving the car to my house! I think I was more nervous than he was.

today I had an early shift at work so that is why I was ablle to go driving with John tonight, he picked me up from work at 4:30 and then we found the church parking lot that we wanted to go into. I wish I could have had someone take a video or a picture of me driving so I could post it on here. maybe when I get my official drivers lisence I will have to post a picture of me driving away in my car all by myself!

Phantom Play

This play was a great play tonight. it was not what I was expecting it to be at all. it was very good. It was totally different than the movie I have seen. I really enjoyed it a lot even though it was much more different than the movie. The music was way more different than the movies music was.

This play and the actors and actresses did very well with their parts, they were all very good. I even cried a little bit towards the end of the play. It was a very touching play.

busy school week

I remember I said I would update after my first week of school; well I kind of forgot to do that now that I am in my 2nd week of my 2nd block of classes. the first week was a little rough. Some of the assignments for English are a little tough and I am having a hard time understanding them so I am still trying to figure out an assignment that was due in week one. if I do not post it before 11:59 tomorrow night I will not receive any credit for it. I am not going to let it get to that point since this assignment is a 50 point assignment. I will already lose 30% of my grade on it which for right now is only 15 points.

My new English instructor is wonderful and is very concerned about how I feel with the work in this class. It is hard stuff but I am going to make it through this class. My instructor for this class gets back to me quickly, I am the one who can never get to her in a good amount of time because I am at work in the evenings. yesterday I did email her on my lunch break from my phone to be able to get back to her quickly.

Today I have also been able to get back to her quickly since I have not had to work, so that has helpped me, just to be able to contact her throughout the day. It really helps when I have time to sit here in front of my computer so I can get my questions answered quickly and that I can also get back to my instructor quickly.

I will update again tomorrow :)

Happy Birthday Gracie!!!!

I have been very touched by the story of Gracie. I have followed her story for a long time. she was born with a congenital heart deffect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) on March 20, 2008. she passed away 18 days before her first birthday after her new heart did not work after her surgery at the end of February.

From reading Gracie's Blog she seems like she was a sweet little angel from Day 1. I have had a hard time not thinking about Gracie since she passed away. eventhough I never knew her personally I will firever hold a place for her and her family in my heart. I learned about Gracie's story after reading Paul Cardall's blog a few months back. through Gracie's story I have been touched in a way that I can't describe.

ever since Gracie passed away I thought about doing a little tribute to her on my blog, to let her family know how much her story has touched me. Gracie was such a beautiful baby! there is a song called Gracie Girl and I love that song because it talks about sweet little Gracie Girl!!!! the lyrics to that song are on Gracie's Blog at http://thegledhillfamily.blogspot.com you can also hear the song on her blog. there are many pictures for her on there also through the months that she lived. also when you go to her blog there is a link to donate to Gracie's Tree; her family and some friends are doing a tree for her this year for the Festival of the Trees. I go to that as often as I can. My mom and I are for sure going to go this year we already have our tickets so we will be able to go on auction night up there. I can tell you this is going to be an amazing year with probably a lot more amazing and beautiful trees in addition to Gracie's beautiful Tree.

Happy Birthday Sweet Gracie Girl!!!!
