1st day of College

Today I posted my first Assignment, it was pretty neat how to post assignments. I talked to Rhandi and she helped me and showed me everything on the University of Phoenix's website. now I am going to be beginning my next assignment that is due on Wednesday. I also have to post a response to the Discussion Question for one of my classes tomorrow. now it is time to start putting my backpack to good use. I am so excited about school and am excited to work with my new instructors. since I have been out of High School and still using the term "Teachers" it is hard for me not to call my instructors "teachers" that is something I am going to have to get use to in the world of college.

one more thing I am going to put my college email address on here for anyone who wants it. my school email address is kandice818@email.phoenix.edu , it is too long to have to tell anyone to write down so I thought I would post it so you can read it and write it down since it is longer than my other email addresses I have are. now I am going to go play the piano for a few minutes and then come back up stairs and check out my school work that needs to be done for tomorrow.

1 More Day until College!!!!!!!!

I am so excited tomorrow is my first day of college. I have my Autobiography already to post tomorrow. then it is on to my next assignments for school. I just have to talk to Rhandi to have her help me know how to post my assignments and things like that for school. she is going to call me at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning so we can go over that stuff before I have to go to work; luckly I do not have to be to work until 2:00 in the afternoon so we have a little bit of time before I have to go to work. I am going to start working on my next assignments tomorrow at work. I have one for English and one for my Gen 105 class that are due at least one day apart for the next two days after Monday. so on Tuesday I have nothing due for my Gen 105 class but I have 1 thing due for English 101 on Tuesday. I will update on my school assignments tomorrow and how posting them and everything works.

Slow and Steady Day

Today was very slow to begin with and then at about 11:00 or 12:00 things started to pick up a little bit. I was very tired. I had two 15 minute snoozes at work and then I had a long nap when I got home from wor and I am still tired so I am going to go to bed any minute. I am sure not use to working at 7:00 a.m. it is so hard for me to work that early but I love that shift because then I have the rest of my day left unless of course I come home and crash on the couch like I did today. I was in the fitting rooms all day until 3:45 and the fitting rooms did not have many people in them. Sometimes the womens fitting rooms were all full at one time and at other times the fitting rooms only had a few people in them in either the mens or womens fitting rooms. I also saw a manager from the south jordan store who was shopping there with her kids today and yesterday I saw her with her Husband because she had today and yesterday off.

2 more days until I start college!!!! I have almost finished my Autobiography and will have it ready to post on monday when the assignment is due. I have to have it posted before Midnight on Monday. I will let you know how it turns out.

4 More Days Until College!!!!!!!!!!!/ Orientation!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I only have 4 more days until I start college. the time sure has gone fast and it is actually happening this time. my first Assignment is due on January 12, 2009 and I have to write an Autobiography about myself. That is not going to be a hard thing for me to do, I already have one page typed for my Autobiography and I still have more to write. The Autobiography has to be I believe 100 to 200 words I think it said. I have way over that right now so I should do well on this assignment. I am a good writer that is why this assignment is so easy for me. I will update when I find out what I got on the Assignment.

Also Orientation went well today, it only lasted one hour and I learned a lot from it today. but some of it was stuff I already knew because I have done my own searching and figuring out of things on the website of the University of Phoenix. I took a lot of notes and everything so I can always have them to keep with me at all times of different terms I always will need to know. I also had brought my laptop in case I needed it but it turned out that I did not need it after all. I will update when I am finished with my paper tomorrow.

Piano Lesson/ Visit With Mr.Martin

Today I had a piano lesson and I was so excited because it had been a long time since I had a piano lesson. today we only worked on two songs abd one I still have to work on. I hope I can be able to pass it off in two weeks when I have my next lesson. by then I will have been in school for 1 week and two days. I am getting excited about college. I have been getting my binders ready today for classes on Monday since that is not too far away. I have two very nice binders put together with a folder inside and lined paper, one binder is blue and the other is like a purpleish pinkish color with a pink folder inside. I have also printed a schedule of each class that has what days what assignments are due and that I am going to put in each subject binder.

Before my piano lesson I had enough time to go visit at least 1 teacher, so I went and visited Mr.Martin. he told me today that his 5 year old daughter is just learning how to play the piano and loves it. he said her first lesson is very soon. I think that is so neat because it is great when you start out at a young age like that. If you keep at it for a long time you will be come a great musician! and Pianist. I have to tell you my mom recieved this home video of me in Montana with my mom and other relatives visiting my grandma and her sister Doris and Doris's Husband Bud. well I was very interested in the piano then, and back then I was about 4 or 5 I think. I had talked about wanting to play the piano in that video and look at me now. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old, that is 13 years! I have come a long way in 13 years, moreso the last 4 years. so anyway back to my visit with Mr.Martin, it is so funny every time I go visit him he always brings up the incident about when I threw my phone on his desk in 12th grade, he will not let me down on that one. I think it is funny how he does that every time he sees me. I don't have a problem with him doing that at all, and I know that when I did that it was not the right thing to do because I got Suspended for it and I learned my lesson especially since I did not get my phone back until the end of the year which was not that far away. he told me today that when ever a kid has their phones out he just takes them away now, he does not give them a warning or anything, and I said is that because of what I did? and I can't remember his response to that question. Mr.Martin told me today that he would like to hear me play the piano again, like in February or March I think he said, which will be great because then I will have more songs learned by then hopefully.

I have 5 more days until I start college!!!! I am getting way excited. I have read through some of the Assignments for my General 105 class and they don't seem too bad. at the end of the term I will have a project that is worth 250 points that is due. it is not too hard of a project though. I will update again tomorrow after Orientation at the University of Phoenix.

Price Changes at Work

Today all I worked on was price changes of pants and that was it. I did also work in the fitting rooms. my day went by really fast, faster than yesterday anyway. yesterday was very slow. today was steady. I now am only down to 6 days until college!! I am getting very excited. I am very excited about my English class. I am also excited about my Gen 105 class. I know I am going to do great. my Orientation is on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. I will update when I get home from that on Thursday, also I have a piano lesson tomorrow and I am so excited about that I can hardly wait for it! I am excited to show Ms.Pike what I have done on my songs and how well I have done on them. well I am now getting ready for med, eventhough my blog says a different time I have updated it than what time it really is I better get off to bed because it is 1:30 already. I will write more tomorrow since I now have two days off!!!!!!

1 Week Until I start College!!!!!!!!!

My College classes are actually going to be starting on January 12, 2009. my first two classes are going to be English 101 and Gen. 105. they look like classes that won't be too difficult. I think I will do just fine with them. on the first day of classes I work 2:00 to 11:00 so I will work on my school work before I go to work that day. I am going to be getting up at about 7:30 that day so I can take a bath and get dressed and be ready to work hard on my school work before I go to my actual job. I can't wait until Orientation on the 8th to see what I am going to be learning about navigating the website and my classes. I will post when I get back from Orientation on the 8th, about all of the things I learned from it.

Good Day Today/ New Song for David's College Performance

Today Jesse came over at about 2:00 p.m. and we played games and just enjoyed talking and having fun playing games. it was nice to not have to take a bath to go anywhere today. I also got this new song that David Wants me to play with him in one of his recitals for college. I am so excited about that! I hope I can get over my nervousness before the actual performance. I can't wait to start working on it. I have played it a little bit and it is so easy that I know I will have it down when his performance is in February or March. I just will need to work on Rhythms and stuff like that just to make sure I can get them down. then I want to also practice with David a few times to make sure we will be okay together when we play and that I won't go too fast or anything.

I have been playing the Moonlight Sonata on the piano lately and it brings back the memories of when I was practicing for the concert I was going to have that I was performing in in High School. one day at school Ms.Pike had told me to go in the Auditorium during my lunch break and practice the Moonlight Sonata on the Piano so I could get use to playing in front of a lot of people. well Jesse was in the Auditorium with me listening to me and all of a sudden I started feeling really weird and I told Jesse to help me into Ms.Pikes room quick. well I barley made it to her office before I started having a really bad seizure, then Ms.Pike got Mr.Stevenson in her room and they called my mom and in the mean time the two cops in our school showed up and called the Ambulance because they said my seizure was not stopping. well the Ambulance came and took me away and gave me this stuff called Verset and it made my seizure stop (which that stuff was not necessary) but it also gave me a terrible cold for our next concert so I had to lipsing at our next concert because I had no voice at all!. so that was my last memory of ever performing in front of large crowds.

I also remember playing for an Institute Choir Performance and I played while the choirs sang and I also played a piano solo, which I did really good at both and was only a little nervous and had no seizure, which I was so afraid of. I know that if I try not to think too much about the large crowd watching me I will be just fine. I also know that once I sit at that piano all my nervous feelings will go away. the good thing is is that I do not have to have this song memorized! if that was the case then I would be in trouble. thankgoodness I will be able to have the music with me when I perform with my cousin David.

Slow Slow Day

today was a very slow day. there was not a whole lot to do in the mens department. I did do some freight for the Boys and Girls Departments and got quite a bit of that out. then I went and worked in the mens department for the last hour on the belts because they were everywhere! they were drapped all over the rack not hung in their correct spots and everything so I fixed the ones that were drapped over the rack. everything else stayed straight the whole day so I did not have to do much more work than the belts. have a great weekend!

Happy New Year!!!!

I can't believe it is officially now 2009!!! I can't wait to see what this year brings for me as well for all of you. I stayed home and watched the coutdown on TV from Times Square in NYC. I love watching that every year. I had a good day today I just relaxed most of the day and helpped with my Grandma again. then Teresa came and picked me up and we went to dinner at Chilis, it was so nice to get out of the house and go somewhere else besides to work. tomorrow I have an 8:30 to 5:30 shift and I am so excited because then I will be home earlier in the evening again.

I also have 11 days until I start college, I am getting so excited. I know I am going to do great I can just feel it in my bones. I know that my English Class I am going to have no problem with at all because I am so good at writting. I will update again tomorrow.
